June 23, 2004....Carroll County PAGER member, Beth Lee, was voted to serve two years as co-chairman of the Carroll County Special Education Citizens Advisory Council.
June 2004....Carroll County Public Schools announced thirty-five teachers completed training in June and received Certification from the Wilson Reading Program. Training was provided by the Jemicy Outreach Program. These teachers have been placed in all middle and high school remedial reading and special education programs. A new training session will begin starting the 2004/2005 school year.
Spring 2004....Margaret Byrd Rawson inducted into the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame along with Dr. Nancy Grasmick, MD Superintendent of Schools.
2003/2004....The following positions came under new leadership in the Frederick County Public Schools: Superintendent, Director of Special Education, Assistant Director of Special Education, Director of Language Arts, Head of Dyslexia Program, and the President of the Frederick County School Board.
PAGER continues to advocate for early identification, certified teacher training in multi-sensory reading methods (K-12), and accountability. Members continue to attend countless IEP meetings throughout the State where we serve as a free advocate for parents and children.
